Why three-phase matters

  • Three-phase makes power upgrades easier for a second dwelling and lots of air conditioning.
  • Bigger solar and battery: on a standard Energex connection, single-phase is limited to 10 kVA of inverter capacity and 5 kW export. Three-phase allows 10 kVA per phase (30 kVA total) and 5 kW export per phase (15 kW total).
  • We can put the main house, upstairs and downstairs dwellings on separate phases.
  • A three-phase inverter and battery can feed all three phases.
